The island is composed of the barangays namely Manoc-Manoc, Balabag, and Yapak in the municipality of Malay, in Aklan Province. Boracay is also famous for being one of the world's top destinations for relaxation. It is also awarded as the 2012 best island in the world from the international travel magazine Travel + Leisure while in In 2014, the resort island was at the top of the Best Islands in the World list published by the international magazine Condé Nast Traveler and In 2016, Boracay headed the magazine's list of Top 10 destinations to watch. Boracay has a lot to offer aside from their powdery white sand and crystal clear water. Take note of the tourist spots that you should visit including Puka Shell Beach, Ariel’s Point, Mount Luho, Crystal Cove, Bulabog Beach, Diniwid Beach and Willy’s Rock.

The first settlers of Boracay were Negrito people called the Ati, and who spoke Visayan language called Inati. Other languages were also introduced including Aklanon , Hiligaynon (Ilonggo), Kinaray-a, Capiznon, other Visayan languages, Filipino, and English.

Ilonggo is widely spoken in Boracay. Aklanon is the local dialect and is the real Boracay language. Although English is one of the min languages spoken in the country in terms of business and education.
